The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has recognized Ryan Ouellette and Jakub Altrichter as Players of the Week for their performances on January 17-18. Ouellette, a senior from Northern Michigan, was named Goaltender of the Week for the second time this season. He led all CCHA netminders in wins, goals-against average, and save percentage last week. His efforts contributed to Northern Michigan's first sweep of the season against Bemidji State. On Friday, he made 24 saves in a 4-1 victory, followed by stopping 33 out of 34 shots in a 3-1 win on Saturday. Notably, he did not allow any goals during even-strength play.
Jakub Altrichter, a freshman also from Northern Michigan, received his first CCHA Rookie of the Week honor. He led conference rookies with four points last week, scoring three goals and providing one assist during the road sweep of Bemidji State. Altrichter achieved a league-best +5 rating in the series and scored one game-winning goal among his eight shots on target. On Friday, he netted twice including his first collegiate goal and game-winner in the Wildcats' 4-1 win. He added another goal and an assist in Saturday's 3-1 victory.
Additionally, St. Thomas forward Liam Malmquist and Ferris State defenseman Travis Shoudy were named CCHA Forward and Defenseman of the Week respectively.
