The Northern Michigan University men's hockey team secured a 4-1 victory over the Bemidji State Beavers at the Sanford Center, marking their first road trip win of 2025. The Wildcats, now holding a record of 3-19-1 overall and 2-12-1 in the CCHA, have won two out of their last three games. During this period, they have scored eight goals and collected six out of nine possible CCHA points. Meanwhile, the Beavers remain winless since the holiday break with a record of 8-11-4 overall and 5-7-3 in the CCHA.

Freshman Jakub Altrichter emerged as a key player for NMU by scoring his first two career collegiate goals during four-on-four situations. His efforts gave the Wildcats a 2-0 lead after two periods. Ryan Ouellette performed well as netminder, making 24 saves on 25 shots with a .960 save percentage. The only goal scored by Bemidji State came during their sole power-play opportunity early in the third period.

In the final period, Matthew Romer extended NMU's lead by causing a turnover and scoring on a breakaway. He later sealed the victory with an empty-net goal in the game's final minute.

Despite being outshot 26 to 11, this marks NMU's first win with such few shots since October 10, 2008.
