Men's Basketball redshirt junior Dylan Kuehl has been recognized as the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, according to an announcement made by the league on Monday.
Kuehl played a crucial role in leading the Wildcats to two road victories, defeating Davenport 60-52 and Grand Valley State 78-70. These wins extended NMU's winning streak to seven games and maintained their unbeaten record in conference games. At Davenport, Kuehl recorded a game-high with 19 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. He followed this performance with 21 points at Grand Valley, tying his career-high by making four three-pointers out of six attempts. Originating from Hustisford, Wisconsin, Kuehl has consistently scored in double figures in 11 out of 12 games this season, including each of the last ten games. Over these ten games, he is averaging 17.0 points per game and has achieved at least five field goals and four rebounds in each game. Additionally, he has shot over 50% from the floor in nine of his last ten outings.
In GLIAC competition, Kuehl ranks second across the league with an average of 18.5 points per game and holds third place in field goal percentage with a shooting rate of 52.0%.
The Wildcats will begin a four-game homestand starting Thursday, January 9th when they host Michigan Tech at 7:30 p.m.
