The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's and women's nordic ski teams are traveling to Cable, Wisconsin, for the Gitchi Gami Games Supertour. The event will run from Thursday, December 12 to Tuesday, December 17 and includes four races.
The competition will begin with a freestyle sprint on Thursday, followed by a classic sprint on Saturday. On Sunday, skiers will compete in the freestyle individual start 10km race. The event concludes with a classic mass start 20km race on Tuesday.
These races will take place at The American Birkebeiner Trail System. This trail system spans over 100 kilometers and is known for attracting various outdoor enthusiasts year-round. It hosts events such as the Slumberland American Birkebeiner, the Fat Bike Birkie, and the Birkie Trail Run.

In their previous outing at the Swedetown Opener in Calumet, Michigan, NMU's Mathias Haugen led the men's team with a fourth-place finish at 18:22.8. Adrik Kraftson finished fifth with a time of 18:31.4 and Luke Fricker came in sixth at 18:33.6.
On the women's side, Henriette Nilssen secured second place in her age group with a time of 20:01.6. Pearl Harvey finished fifth at 20:56.2 while Ella Niznik completed her race in twelfth place with a time of 22:21.2.
