After two extensive road trips, the Wildcats are set to return home for a series against the Ferris State Bulldogs. The games will take place at the Berry Events Center on Friday at 7:07 p.m. and Saturday at 6:07 p.m., with streaming available on MidcoSports Plus and radio coverage on 100.3 The Point.
The weekend promises more than just hockey, featuring several promotions. Friday's game includes a Teddy Bear Toss, while Saturday offers a Sock Toss followed by "Skate With the 'Cats," where fans can join players on the ice post-game. Proceeds from these events will support various local charities including The Salvation Army, St. Vincent DePaul, and others.
The Wildcats recently suffered losses against Augustana but saw first career goals from Jakob Peterson and Brendan Poshak. They currently sit ninth in the CCHA standings, making this weekend crucial for gaining points before the holiday break.
"Both Jakob Peterson and Brendan Poshak scored their first career collegiate goals over the weekend," according to recent team updates. Peterson is also noted for being on a two-game point streak.
Defensively, Rasmus Larsson leads with blocked shots among freshmen in the CCHA, while Ryan Ouellette ranks third in conference saves with an impressive save percentage of .916.
The Bulldogs have struggled recently but are led by Caiden Gault and Cole Burtch in scoring. First-year captain Travis Shoudy plays significant minutes for Ferris State, while Noah West has been consistent in goal despite challenges in special teams performance.
Ferris State faces difficulties away from home with only one win on the road this season.
