Meghan Meyer, a fifth-year senior at Northern Michigan University (NMU), has been an influential player on the NMU Volleyball team. Recognized as a four-time All-GLIAC honoree, Meyer is also pursuing a career in secondary education as a math teacher.

Reflecting on her time with the Wildcats, Meyer shared her fond memories: "The time spent with the team, all the laughs and memories created with my teammates, and definitely just the people," she said.

Meyer is completing her Master's degree and aims to finish by summer 2025. After graduation, she plans to return to Grand Rapids to start her teaching career.

Discussing her growth over five years at NMU, Meyer stated, "Coming in as a freshman, I never really gave myself enough credit in my volleyball skills, but (throughout the five years at NMU) I continued to surprise myself." Her journey from self-doubt as a freshman to becoming a key player illustrates her development.

To incoming freshmen, Meyer advises embracing challenges and enjoying each moment because "it goes by too fast."

The Wildcats are set to compete against Parkside on Wednesday, November 20 in Vandament Arena for the GLIAC Quarterfinals.
