The Northern Michigan University (NMU) men's swim and dive team hosted the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals at the PEIF Pool for their first home meet of the 2024/25 season. Despite a strong effort, NMU fell to the Cardinals with a final score of 98-143.
Individual performances stood out during the event. Ian Rocheleau excelled by securing first place in both the 25 and 75-yard backstroke events. William LaCount also delivered an impressive performance, winning the 25-yard freestyle, contributing to the victory in the 125-yard freestyle relay as an anchor, and taking second place in the 25-yard butterfly.
The successful 125-yard freestyle relay team was composed of Marty Wolmarans, Wyatt Dickman, Ale Rosatelli, Gabriel Fulconi, and William LaCount.
Looking ahead, NMU will face off against both Saginaw Valley State Cardinals and Grand Valley Lakers tomorrow morning. The competition is set to begin at 11 AM at the PEIF Pool.
