The Northern Michigan University (NMU) swim and dive team is preparing to host a series of meets at the PEIF Pool against Saginaw Valley State and Grand Valley State. This follows a successful weekend against St. Cloud State.
The Wildcats will face the Cardinals on Friday, October 25, at 6 p.m., and will conclude the weekend with competitions against both the Cardinals and Lakers on Saturday, October 26, at 11 a.m.
Currently, NMU's men and women teams are ranked No. 10 in the CSCAA poll. The Cardinals hold the No. 15 spot for men, while the Lakers are ranked No. 4 for men and No. 2 for women.

Head coach Heidi Voigt commented on building momentum: "It was good… just to get out there racing other teams," she said about their recent performances. She also expressed optimism for upcoming meets with Saginaw Valley and Grand Valley.
Voigt anticipates improvements from the Men's team after some athletes missed previous meets due to travel issues. She praised the Women's team's potential this season: "They've been really strong this year and [have had a] great mindset on deck."
Two divers achieved NCAA cuts recently, which Voigt found encouraging: "They have to get two cuts to be able to go [to the NCAA Championships]," she explained regarding new rules.
In recent competitions at St. Cloud State, NMU secured three GLIAC weekly titles. Tobie Stiles received an NCAA cut and won both boards on one day of competition, earning him GLIAC Men's Diver of the week honors. Voigt noted his perseverance over that weekend.
Kalina Ceglinski excelled by winning all four boards over two days, earning an NCAA cut along with being named GLIAC Women's Diver of the week.
Carlotta Santi was recognized as GLIAC Women's swimmer of the week, marking another achievement for NMU.
While NMU's women's team dominated their matches against St. Cloud State with scores of 148-90 and 153-69 over two days, their men's team fell short with scores of 84-156 initially but narrowed it to 99-123 subsequently.
