Five athletes from the Northern Michigan track and field team participated in the Fighting Chance Invite in Joliet, Illinois. This event marked the conclusion of their regular season before the NCAA Championships.
Natalie Pisoke competed in the 100m dash, clocking a time of 13:01. In the 100m hurdles, Ellyse Wolfrath secured second place with a time of 14.04. Ahna Larson finished ninth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:05.98.
In the 800m race, Beverly Harper completed her run at 2:18.45, placing her 16th among more than fifty participants. Crystal Walker took part in the long jump, achieving third place with a mark of 5.63 meters.
Madi Szymanski ran in the 5K event on Friday night, finishing with a time of 17:36:59 for twelfth place.
Walker and Wolfrath are now awaiting their potential selection for the NCAA Championships. The selections will be announced on NCAA.com on Tuesday, May 14 at 5 p.m. ET. Walker is currently ranked thirteenth and Wolfrath fourteenth in their events as they hope to be among at least twenty individuals selected per event.
