The Northern Michigan wrestling team is set to participate in the Grand View Open this Saturday, February 3rd, in Des Moines, Iowa. The event will commence at 9 a.m. ET at the Grand View University Johnson Wellness Center & Sisam Arena. Last season, several Northern Michigan wrestlers experienced success at this event and aim to replicate their performance.

The Wildcats are currently ranked 12th according to The Open Mat NCAA Women's Wrestling rankings and hold the 10th spot in the NWCA rankings. Marisa Angelos is ranked 7th nationally in the 143 weight class by The Open Mat. Alissa Caltagirone is ranked 9th in the same weight class, while Noelle Gaffney holds the 8th position nationally in the 155 weight class. Abigale Swanson is ranked 13th nationally in the 170 weight class.

In their last outing, Northern Michigan competed at the Alma Open in Alma, MI, where they secured first place among nine teams with a total of 173 points. Zhivanna Magdaleno excelled by achieving a perfect record of 5-0 in the 123 weight class.
