Crystal Walker, representing Northern Michigan Outdoor Track & Field, has qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100m hurdles. The announcement was made by the NCAA on Tuesday evening.
Walker had an impressive outdoor season following a hiatus during the indoor season due to injury. On May 1, at the GLIAC Championships, she clocked a time of 13.84 seconds in the 100m hurdles. This performance ranked among the nation's top 20 in the final weeks of the regular season, securing her place in the national championship.
This marks Walker's second appearance at a national level event. Her previous participation was during the 2022-23 indoor season when she placed 13th in the long jump with a distance of 5.66 meters.
Walker is set to compete at Welch Stadium in Emporia, Kansas, from May 23 to May 25 for the NCAA Championships. She will run in the preliminaries on Friday, May 24th at 7:50 p.m. ET, with finals scheduled for Saturday, May 25th at 3:55 p.m. ET.
