The Northern Michigan Track & Field team is set to compete in the St. Norbert College Invitational in De Pere, Wisconsin, on Saturday, April 27. This event marks the Wildcats' final regular season meet before they head into the GLIAC Championships at the beginning of May.

Northern Michigan will be among 11 teams participating this weekend. The field events are scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. ET, with track events kicking off with the 5000m race at 12:30 p.m. ET.

For those interested in following the team's progress, updates will be available on social media platforms X (formerly known as Twitter) via @NMU_Track_Field and Instagram through @nmu_tfxc.

Reflecting on their recent performance, NMU had a successful outing at the Elaine Leigh Invite in Metro Detroit last weekend. The team secured six victories from athletes Ellyse Wolfrath, Baux Truckey, Gianna Hoving, Madi Szymanski, Crystal Walker, and their 4x400m relay team.

The Wildcats also achieved three second-place finishes and seven third-place results during the two-day event. In total, they recorded 26 top-five finishes.

Ellyse Wolfrath excelled in the 100m hurdles with a winning time of 14.54 seconds. Her preliminary heat time of 14.04 seconds was sufficient for an NCAA provisional mark. Sofi Diop finished third in this event with a time of 14.89 seconds.

Freshman Baux Truckey won the 400m race with a time of 58.53 seconds—one of only two times under one minute.

In relay action, NMU's Emme Burroughs, Beverly Harper, Natalie Pisoke, and Ciara Ostrenga clinched first place in the 4x400m relay with a finish time of 4:01.11.

Crystal Walker topped her competition in long jump by reaching a distance of 5.71 meters.

Gianna Hoving emerged victorious in the 1500m race with a time of 4:41.11—over two seconds ahead of her competitors.

Madi Szymanski rounded out NMU's wins by taking first place in the 5000m race with a finishing time of 17:11.83.
