NMU athletes earn Scholar All-America honors from United Soccer Coaches

United Soccer Coaches has recognized three members of the Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's soccer team with NCAA Division II Women's Scholar All-America honors for 2023. This marks a historic first for the NMU program, as no member had previously achieved this accolade.

Maria Storm received first-team recognition, following a successful season both on and off the field. The junior defender maintained a 3.55 GPA and also earned Third Team All-America and First Team All-Region honors during the season.

Brooke Pietila and Isabelle Brusilow were named to the second team. Both players excelled academically, with Pietila achieving a 3.90 GPA and Brusilow attaining a 3.92 GPA. Earlier in the season, they were selected for the First Team All-Region.
