Northern Michigan prepares to face Concordia-St. Paul in GLIAC semifinals

The Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's lacrosse team is set to begin their GLIAC playoff journey against Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears on Friday, May 3rd at 7 PM. The Wildcats, ranked second in the conference, have already faced the Golden Bears twice this season, securing victories with scores of 21-12 and 11-5.

This matchup marks the GLIAC Semifinal game where the winner will advance to play either Davenport or Grand Valley State for the championship on Sunday.

Senior player Minnie Bittell has been a standout performer for NMU, earning her fourth GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors recently. Bittell achieved a milestone by reaching 300 career points during a game against Concordia. She concluded the regular season leading in goals, assists, and points within the GLIAC and ranks highly nationwide in several categories.

Kaitlyn Bridger, another senior player from NMU, is close to achieving her own milestone with just two goals needed to reach 100 career goals. She finished fifth overall in the GLIAC with 47 points this season.

Last season, NMU defeated Concordia-St. Paul in the first round of the playoffs with a score of 15-11.

The Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears are ranked third in the GLIAC and ended their regular season with an overall record of 6-11 and a conference record of 1-5. They are currently on a five-game losing streak after falling to NMU in their last regular-season game. Susie Monson stands out for Concordia-St. Paul with significant contributions including holding second place behind Bittell for total points across the GLIAC.
