NMU Wildcats lose to Lakers in GLIAC Championship

The NMU women's lacrosse team ended its 2024 season with a loss in the GLIAC Championships, marking their second consecutive appearance in the finals. The Wildcats were defeated by Grand Valley State University with a final score of 13-3.

During the match, Avery Lorinser, Cameryn Mayer, and Maddi Bast scored for NMU. The team completed the regular season with a record of 14 wins and 5 losses.

In a statement to supporters, "The NMU Lacrosse team and staff would like to thank all of the friends, family, and fans for their support this season. Go 'Cats!"

The game started evenly in the first quarter. Lorinser scored following an assist from Bittell, keeping NMU close at one point behind. Priestly later scored to narrow the gap again before Grand Valley State pulled ahead with three goals just before halftime.

Maddi Bast added another goal for NMU in the third quarter but ultimately, they fell short against their opponents.
