Lacrosse team achieves best-ever record; track athletes shine at St. Norbert Invite

The lacrosse and track and field teams achieved notable success over the weekend. The lacrosse team secured an 11-5 victory against Concordia-St. Paul, completing a sweep of the regular season series. This win marks the end of their regular season with a 13-4 overall record and a 4-2 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), which is the best regular season record in the program's history.

Minnie Bittell played a key role with four goals and four assists, earning her fourth GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week title this season. She also reached 300 career points and is close to achieving both 100 season points and 100 career ground balls. Kaitlyn Bridger contributed three goals, marking her fifth time scoring three or more goals in a game this season. Goalkeeper Lauren Esposito made 11 saves with a .688 save percentage, both figures being the second-highest in her career.

In track and field at the St. Norbert Invite, there were six wins, 13 podium finishes, and 11 personal records set by athletes from various events. Beverly Harper, Ciara Ostrenga, and Emme Burrough dominated the podium in the 400m race. Ellyse Wolfrath took first place in the 100m hurdles while Leah Root achieved a personal record and first place in pole vaulting. Talon Prusi won the 5000m race, Baux Truckey claimed victory in the 200m race, and together with Ellyse Wolfrath, Jahtivya Williams, Ahna Larson secured first place in the 4x100m relay.
