Northern Michigan University women's golf ranks eleventh after first round

The Northern Michigan University (NMU) women's golf team is positioned in 11th place among 14 teams after completing the first round of play. The team collectively scored +51, equating to 339 strokes, putting them behind Northwood and Kentucky Wesleyan, both at +45.

In their performance, NMU played the par-3 holes at +22 with an average score of 4.10, par-4 holes at +37 averaging 4.74, and par-5 holes at +9 with an average of 5.45. Notably, they ranked fourth best in playing the par-5s among the competing teams. Throughout the round, they made a total of 35 pars and one birdie.

Alyssa Yaggie led NMU with a score of +9, shooting an 81 to finish tied for 26th place. She achieved a front nine score of 42 and a back nine score of 39, making the team's sole birdie on the par-4 hole number thirteen.

Maya Hunter followed Yaggie's lead with a score of +13 (85), placing her tied for 52nd after scoring a front nine of 39 and a back nine of 46 while making seven pars.

Hailey Bolander and Payton Dube each shot scores of +14, placing them tied for 60th position alongside Maggie Pietila who finished closely behind with a score of +15 in T65. Completing NMU's lineup was Payton Donnelly who stood tied for 73rd with a score of +17.
