Northern Michigan cross country prepares for GLIAC Championships after La Crosse meet

The Northern Michigan University cross country team participated in its final race before the upcoming GLIAC Championships, competing at UW-La Crosse on October 14. The Wildcats chose to rest their top runners in preparation for next weekend's event and finished sixth out of twenty teams.

Talon Prusi led the Wildcats, securing 18th place with a time of 23:35.3. Following Prusi, Beverly Harper crossed the finish line in 38th place with a time of 24:10.7, closely followed by Petra Foote in 41st place at 24:13.9. Both Harper and Foote achieved personal bests during this competition.

Additional team members Elliott Smith (24:44.2), Lana Mac (24:44.3), and Isabella Beck (25:00.2) also set personal records while placing within the top-100 finishers. Attica Brandt (25:16.1) and Endla Harris (25:27.4) improved their personal-best times as well.

Deyanneira Colon Maldonado from Aurora claimed victory in the individual race with a time of 22:16.4, while Wisconsin-La Crosse emerged as the winning team.

The Wildcats will now focus on the GLIAC Championships scheduled for Saturday, October 21, hosted by Michigan Tech in Houghton.
