The Northern Michigan University (NMU) football team has unveiled its schedule for the 2024 season, which includes five home games at the Superior Dome and six away matches. The Wildcats will face teams from five different states and conferences during the upcoming season.

The team is led by second-year head coach Shane Richardson. With a mix of returning players and new talent, NMU aims to improve its performance in 2024.

The Wildcats' season opener is a night game against Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs on Thursday, August 29, at the Superior Dome. This match marks the beginning of their non-conference games.

Following this, NMU will play two road games. They will first travel to Kentucky Wesleyan on Thursday, September 5, for their inaugural encounter with the Panthers. On Saturday, September 14, they will compete against UW-La Crosse near the Mississippi River.

Returning home on Saturday, September 21, NMU will host Alma College as part of Homecoming and Hall of Fame celebrations. After a bye week, they begin GLIAC competition against Saginaw Valley State at home on Saturday, October 5.

Their first GLIAC away game is against Grand Valley State Lakers in Allendale on Saturday, October 12. The Wildcats return home to face Roosevelt University from Chicago on October 19.

The Miner's Cup clash with Michigan Tech Huskies takes place in Houghton on October 26. NMU's final home game is scheduled for November 2 against Ferris State for Senior Day.

The season concludes with two away games: visiting Davenport on November 9 and facing Wayne State in Detroit on November 16.
