Northern Michigan University is set to host Grand Valley State University in a football matchup at the Superior Dome this Saturday, October 21. The game will kick off at 1 p.m. ET. This marks the second consecutive week that NMU will be hosting a game.

Head Coach Shane Richardson commented on the team's preparation: "We're going to continue to work in a way that gets our players confident going into Saturday and we'll be able to better and better each week moving forward."

Last weekend, Northern Michigan faced a tough defeat against their rivals, Michigan Tech Huskies, with a final score of 62-0. The Wildcats struggled with turnovers and had two punts blocked during the game.

Several players from NMU have shown notable performances this season. Mitch Larkin leads in total tackles within the conference with 71 tackles, while Tyqaun Cox ranks fourth in all-purpose yards in GLIAC with 735 yards. Other standout players include Sam Peiffer, Jax Hertel, and Jake Price.

Grand Valley State enters this week's game with an impressive record of 5-1 overall and remains undefeated within the GLIAC conference. They are currently on a five-game winning streak and recently secured an upset victory against Ferris State University with a score of 49-28. Key players from GVSU include Cade Peterson, Avery Moore, and Cody Tierney.
