Nothern Michigan University women's golf team stands 10th after first round at Panther Invite

The NMU women's golf team completed the first round of the DU Panther Invite in Augusta, Michigan. The team is currently positioned 10th out of 13 teams.

NMU posted a team score of +43 (331), averaging 82.75 across the four rounds used for scoring. This was close to the course average at Stonehedge North, which was 82.79 over 73 rounds.

The team is one stroke behind LSSU, who holds the 9th position and trails Ohio Dominican by ten strokes for 8th place. Saginaw Valley and Davenport are tied for the lead with a score of +8, followed by Tiffin at +16.

Maddy Martens led NMU with a score of +7 (79), finishing 24th individually. She started on hole nine and improved significantly in her second half, shooting even par with a birdie on the 18th hole.

Maggie Pietila finished two strokes behind Martens at +9 (81) and placed 34th individually, showing improvement by shooting only +2 in her last eleven holes.

Hailey Bolander and Abbie Pietila contributed scores of +13 (85) and +14 (86), placing them in 49th and 50th positions respectively.

Payton Dube scored a round of +18, while Gabriella Moreau competed as an individual with a score of +19.
