NMU men's golf team finishes seventh at DU Panther Invitational

The NMU men's golf team wrapped up its fall season at the DU Panther Invitational in Battle Creek, Michigan, finishing 7th among 12 teams. The Wildcats improved their performance on the second day by reducing six strokes from their initial score, ending with a two-day total of +32.

The course at Bedford Valley proved to be slightly easier on the second day, with an average score of 76.64. The Wildcats averaged a better score of 75.25 as a team.

Three players finished close together in their individual standings. Walter Ylitalo completed the tournament with a two-day total of +6, placing him in 23rd position after shooting +2 (74) on the final day. Brady Badker followed closely with a total of +7 and finished in 24th place after carding +3 (75). Arthur Ylitalo ended with a total of +8, placing him 27th after also shooting +3 (75).

Walter Ylitalo began his round three over par through seven holes but recovered by playing one under par for his last twelve holes, which included two birdies. Badker maintained consistency throughout his round with fourteen pars and one birdie. Arthur Ylitalo managed to achieve two birdies and twelve pars.

Tyler Annala contributed to the team's score with a round of +5 (77), including three birdies. Russell Sprecher finished in 46th place as an individual competitor, while Levi Pennala placed 61st.
