The Northern Michigan University men's golf team is set to compete in the Motor City Shakedown at TPC Michigan in Dearborn, Michigan. This two-day tournament, hosted by Wayne State, marks the Wildcats' return to this event since October 2018 when two individuals from the team placed in the top 10.

The course for this event is TPC Michigan, designed by Jack Nicklaus. It features an 18-hole championship layout that is known for its challenging links-style design and natural beauty. The course has previously hosted the Ford Senior Players Championship for 16 years, attracting golf legends such as Arnold Palmer, ChiChi Rodriguez, and Gary Player.

The lineup for NMU includes Russel Sprecher, Eric Yun, Tyler Annala, Walter Ylitalo, Arthur Ylitalo, and Joe Luke.

In their previous outing this season, NMU's men's golf team finished 9th out of 14 teams with a collective score of +31 over 36 holes. The Wildcats were in 4th place after the first day with a score of +8 but fell back on the second day with a score of +23. Walter Ylitalo led the team with a two-day total of +5 (149), placing him 21st in the tournament.
