The Northern Michigan University women's soccer team is preparing for its first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) road trip of the 2024 season. The team will travel to Illinois to face Roosevelt on September 27, followed by a game against Purdue Northwest in Indiana on September 29.
The Wildcats aim to build on their recent performance, which has brought their record to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play after facing Grand Valley State and Davenport last weekend.
This will be the first meeting between NMU and Roosevelt, who joined the GLIAC this season. The Wildcats previously faced Purdue Northwest during the GLIAC tournament, securing a 3-0 victory.

The Wildcats currently lead the GLIAC in several categories including points per game (6.17), scoring offense (2.33), shots per game (17.83), shots on goal per game (8.67), total goals (14), and total points (37).
Justina L'Esperance leads NMU with three goals and seven points in six games. She also leads the team in shots and shots on goal. The Wildcats have nine different goal scorers and twelve athletes with at least one point through six games this season. All-American Maria Storm leads the team in minutes played with 510, followed by Brooke Pietila (487), Hannah Kastamo (453), and Kenna Alexander (445).
Roosevelt is experiencing its first season in Division II as a member of the GLIAC. They are still searching for their first win, holding a record of 0-3-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play. Senior Paola Macias leads Roosevelt with two goals and an assist through five matches.
Purdue Northwest has started strong this season with a record of 4-0-1 overall and 1-0 in GLIAC play, currently riding a three-game winning streak. Senior Amaris Gonzalez was named offensive player of the week last week after scoring three goals over the weekend.
