The Northern Michigan Women's Golf team is preparing for a week of matches in Washington, Michigan, at the Warrior Invitational. The event, hosted by Wayne State University, will commence on Monday, September 23, and conclude on Tuesday, September 24, 2024.

"Every tournament is an opportunity to improve from the last," said head coach Ben Johnson. "We're going to learn from our last tournament and try to lose a few shots this weekend."

The Orchards Golf Club, where the tournament will take place, is an 18-hole championship course located within a 525-acre residential and golf community. The course has a par of 72 and a slope rating of 144 for women.

The lineup for Northern Michigan includes Hailey Bolander, Maddy Martens, Maggie Pietila, Payton Dube, Payton Donnelly, and Abbie Pietila.

In their previous outing at the ODC Women’s Classic, the Wildcats finished 13th out of 15 teams. Abbie Pietila led the team with a score of 163. She was followed by Maggie Pietila and Hailey Bolander with scores of 165 and 167 respectively. A highlight from that event was Maggie Pietila achieving her first-ever ace during round one on hole two. She completed her round with a score of 84 (+14), including a birdie on the par-4 13th hole along with her ace and seven pars.
