Northern Michigan University women's golf finishes thirteenth at ODC Women's Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Northern Michigan University Women's golf team completed their first tournament of the season at the ODC Women's Classic, finishing 13th among the 15 teams.

The 36-hole tournament was played over two days at the Champions Golf Course, featuring a par of 70. The course measures 6,536 yards from the back tees and has a rating of 70.8 with a slope of 125.

The Wildcats began their second round with starts on holes 12 and 13, respectively.

**Round One**

Maggie Pietila delivered a memorable shot on hole two with a hole-in-one; this feat hasn't been accomplished since September 16, 2018, when Haley Hewer last made this remarkable shot.

Abbie Pietila led the way for the team with an impressive round of 79 (+9), hitting a key birdie on the sixth hole and displaying consistency with eight pars throughout the round.

Maddy Martens carded a score of 82 (+12), highlighted by ten pars and a birdie on the seventeenth hole that shaped her final score.

Hailey Bolander shot an 85 (+15), completing the Wildcats' scoring lineup and placing T55 individually. Payton Dube scored 93 (+23) in T82 and Payton Donnelly finished T88 with a score of 95 (+25).

**Round Two**

Abbie Pietila shot an 84 (+14), including two birdies, finishing T39 as an individual on the leaderboard. She led the Wildcats in performance on both days.

Maggie Pietila scored pars on seven out of nine front holes, finishing with eleven pars for the round. She closed out round two with a score of 81 (+11), totaling +25 for the tournament and finishing T47.

Hailey Bolander finished her round with a score of 82, placing her at +12 over par and tying her for fifty-third position overall with her total score of +27.

Maddy Martens recorded two birdies during her round, finishing with a score of 86 and +16 over par. She ended tied for fifty-sixth place and fourth on the team.

Payton Donnelly carded an 87 (+17) in T85 while Payton Dube rounded out the Wildcats shooting a score of ninety-six (+26) for a two-day total of +49.

**Up Next**

The Wildcats will continue next week at another event in Washington, MI at Warrior Invitational. Round one will begin on Monday, September twenty-third and conclude on Tuesday, September twenty-fourth.
