OhioGuidestone Promise Run breaks fundraising and attendance records
[Berea, OH-September 14, 2024] OhioGuidestone, a leading community behavioral health organization in Ohio, raised over $100,000 at its biannual Promise Run to promote mental health support. This amount is nearly $30,000 more than the previous event.
A record 442 participants ran or walked the 10k, 5K, or 1-mile course near Wallace Lake. The event coincided with the last day of National Suicide Prevention Week, aligning with OhioGuidestone’s mission of empowerment.
“Just by being here today, you are making life better for someone who is going through a difficult time,” said Brant Russell, OhioGuidestone President and CEO, during the awards ceremony.
Russell expressed gratitude to OhioGuidestone supporters and presenting sponsor Blue Technologies. Other contributors included Sherwin Williams, The Cleveland Guardians, Credit First National Association, PWC, Fleet Response, Medic Management Group, Tucker Ellis, USI, APEC Engineering among others.
Hope Yoga and C-Town Studio provided a pre-run warm-up session before Berea-Midpark Cheerleaders and The Pride of Westlake Demon Marching Band Drumline performed along the course.
The family-friendly event featured food trucks, face painting activities, balloon making sessions and a special visit from Cleveland Browns Mascot Chomps.
Funds raised will support OhioGuidestone’s mission to empower individuals across their lifespan through challenging times. The organization focuses on addressing holistic needs to help individuals move towards healthier futures.
