A goal one minute into the game set the tone as the Wildcats secured a 3-0 victory over Cedarville in Midland, Michigan. Brooke Pietila scored early, giving the Wildcats an immediate lead.

"We knew what we had to do going into the game, and I think we executed well," said Pietila. "We now have to put our focus on [Northwood] on Saturday."

Freshman Alyse Daavettila made her first appearance around the 30-minute mark and scored her first career goal just before halftime. Justina L'Esperance added a third goal with ten minutes remaining, finalizing the score at 3-0.

The Wildcats improved to 2-1 overall for the season.

Key highlights include:

- Pietila's first goal of the season

- Daavettila scoring her first career goal

- L'Esperance scoring her second goal of the season

- Freshman goalkeeper Sally Patton earning her first career win with a three-save shutout

Stephanie Trujillo assisted on L'Esperance's goal, bringing her total to three points in three games. All-American Maria Storm played all 90 minutes, while Pietila, Hannah Kastamo, Megan Kirby, and Kenna Alexander also logged significant minutes. The Wildcats outshot Cedarville 11-8.

Pietila capitalized early by finding a loose ball and scoring from the right corner of the box. In the final minutes of the half, Kastamo intercepted a pass and crossed it to Daavettila who doubled their lead. Trujillo then found L'Esperance alone in the box for the final goal.

The Wildcats will face Northwood on Saturday at noon ET to complete their road trip.
