The championship began on August 5 with over 200 golfers vying to make the cut. Yun started his campaign with a round of 73 (+1), achieving five birdies and seven pars at Riverside Country Club. He followed this performance with an even-par round of 72 (E), consisting of two birdies and 14 pars at Saskatoon Golf & Country Club. In the third round, Yun recorded his best performance of the week by shooting a 68 (-4) with six birdies and ten pars, including a bogey-free back nine at Riverside Country Club. This effort placed him tied for 20th after three rounds. During the fourth round, Yun started strong with a front-nine score of 36 (-1) but ended with a final-round scorecard showing a 76 (+4), resulting in his tie for 39th among the remaining 89 golfers who made it past the cut.
