Coldwater DDA Seeks Input with Downtown Pulse Poll

Coldwater, Mich. – Coldwater Main Street, in conjunction with Michigan Main Street, is seeking community input on the pulse of Downtown Coldwater. A new “Pulse Poll” gives community members an opportunity to share specific types of restaurants and retail that are desired downtown, gauge downtown progress, and guide priorities for projects and programs. Results will be included in an annual Impact Report highlighting Coldwater’s first year in the Main Street program. The Pulse Poll will be available to the public from August 15th to August 28th.

The pulse poll refines the community’s vision for the downtown and builds on the baseline assessment that was conducted earlier in 2022. As part of the Michigan Main Street (MMS) Select Level Program, all Michigan Main Street communities are conducting a similar poll this August. “The Pulse Poll is important to gauging the downtown’s progress over time. The questions build off of feedback that was shared earlier this year and the results will be factored in when board members and volunteers begin working on projects this fall,” said Audrey Tappenden, Main Street Director and Economic Development Coordinator for the City of Coldwater. The survey will be available on the City’s website, through Downtown Coldwater’s Facebook and Instagram profiles, or by scanning the QR code found on flyers.

Coldwater’s first Impact Report will be available later this year. Impact Reports provide a snapshot of investment and volunteerism, and highlight the goals and objectives of the Coldwater Main Street program.
