June 17: Congressional Record publishes “VOTE EXPLANATION” in the Senate section

Volume 167, No. 106, covering the 1st Session of the 117th Congress (2021 - 2022), was published by the Congressional Record.

The Congressional Record is a unique source of public documentation. It started in 1873, documenting nearly all the major and minor policies being discussed and debated.

“VOTE EXPLANATION” mentioning Gary C. Peters was published in the Senate section on pages S4618-S4619 on June 17.

Of the 100 senators in 117th Congress, 24 percent were women, and 76 percent were men, according to the Biographical Directory of the United States Congress.

Mr. PETERS. Madam President, due to a family medical emergency, I was unable to attend today's vote on Executive Calendar

#123--Tommy P. Beaudreau, of Alaska, to be Deputy Secretary of the Interior. Had I been able to attend, I would have voted ``aye'' on confirmation.

Madam President, due to a family medical emergency, I was unable to attend today's votes on motion to invoke cloture and confirmation of Executive Calendar #157, John K. Tien, of Georgia, to be Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security. Had I been able to attend, I would have voted ``aye'' on the motion and ``aye'' on confirmation.
