Michigan Convention of States has issued the following press release:
Convention of States Action is the biggest nationwide grassroots activist group and non-partisan, non-profit organization in the country. This movement is growing fast, especially in Michigan. Fifteen of the 34 states needed to create an Article V Convention of States have already passed the resolution. The Michigan Convention of States (MI COS) team is working feverishly hard to make Michigan the 16th and standing together with several other grassroots groups such as: WE THE COUNTY, Michigan Leadership Group, 2A Patriots, Cave Radio, Minority Voice, and Us Against Media, to name a few. Follow them at our Facebook page.
Free and Open to the Public: Visit this site for a complete list of upcoming events; they’re free and require no pre-registration of any kind.
“Town Hall” events are the most thorough of our events, and have occurred all summer, some with almost 200 people in attendance (for instance on Aug 26 in Clinton Township). Several more are scheduled as indicated below. Other events such as informational booths are also scheduled for the coming weeks and months.
Upcoming Town Halls:
- Shelby Township “Save America” Town Hall Sept. 16
- Imlay City “Save America” Town Hall Sept. 23
- Holly “Save America” Town Hall Sept. 30
- Frankfort “Save America” Town Hall Oct. 2
Mission: to build an engaged army of self-governing grassroots activists, and
Aspirational Goal: to inspire a Spiritual and Political awakening in America
The Convention of States Project is a non-partisan, non-profit, nationwide effort focused on self-governance and the US Constitution. Once a ‘grassroots army’ is created, the Convention of States organization will use Article V of the US Constitution to create the first ever (see note 1) “Convention of States” and suggest amendments to:
1. Limit federal government spending & taxation in common-sense ways
2. Limit the power, scope and jurisdiction of the federal government by returning stolen powers to the states
3. Enact Term limits on Congress and unelected judges, bureaucrats, and other federal officials
You can also become involved by signing the petition for Michigan’s state legislature to support a Convention of States; you can also indicate you want to volunteer. For a complete list of upcoming events in Michigan, visit: https://conventionofstates.com/michigan-events.
