Mike Rogers, U.S. Senate Candidate in Michigan, said he walked across the Mackinac Bridge with a group of supporters, hearing their concerns about high grocery and gas prices, for Labor Day. Rogers made the statement in a post on X on September 2.
“We had such a great time with friends and supporters this morning as we trekked the five miles across the Mackinac Bridge to kick off Labor Day,” said Rogers. “Michigan is a truly special place, I’m honored to be in this race to represent our great state!”
For Labor Day weekend, according to the Rogers campaign, Michigan Republican nominee for U.S. Senate, Mike Rogers, was in Northern Michigan where he made the 5-mile walk across the Mackinac Bridge. Michigan voters joined Rogers and shared their concerns about lowering gas and grocery prices, securing the southern border, and electing a leader with the “spine to stand up to China.”
Rogers is running for U.S. Senate against incumbent Elissa Slotkin in Michigan, according to Ballotpedia.
According to his website, Rogers was born and raised in Livingston County, Michigan. He served as a lieutenant in the United States Army and then as a Special Agent in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He first ran for public office in 1994 and was elected to the Michigan state legislature.
