Roscommon County seeks applicants for drain commissioner vacancy

Roscommon County announced on April 28 that it is accepting resumes for the office of Drain Commissioner. The position is open to registered and qualified electors of the county, in accordance with state law.

The Drain Commissioner oversees the administration of the state drain code, which includes planning, developing, and maintaining surface water drainage systems throughout Roscommon County. The ideal candidate would also become certified in soil erosion and sediment control.

This appointment will fill the remainder of the current term ending December 31, 2028. The position will be up for election in 2028. The annual pay for this role is $7,537.75, paid monthly. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision and life insurance as well as a defined contribution retirement option.

Resumes should be sent to the Roscommon County Clerk/Register of Deeds at 500 Lake Street, Roscommon, MI 48653. Applications must be received by Friday, May 15 at 4:00 p.m.
