The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) announced on May 4 that it is highlighting available resources to support small businesses with environmental compliance as part of National Small Business Week.
Small businesses play a key role in the state’s economy by driving innovation, creating jobs, and supporting communities. However, many small business owners face challenges managing multiple responsibilities, which can make navigating environmental regulations difficult.
EGLE said it understands these difficulties and is dedicated to assisting small businesses. The department offers free and practical compliance assistance to help business owners understand and manage air, water, and waste regulations.
According to EGLE’s announcement, its staff are available to bridge the gap for business owners who may feel overwhelmed by regulatory requirements. The department aims to make compliance more accessible so that entrepreneurs can focus on running their operations while meeting state standards.
The effort coincides with National Small Business Week and reflects ongoing attempts by state agencies to support economic growth while maintaining environmental protections.
