Grand Blanc Township announced on April 18 that it will host its fourth annual Community Clean Up event on Saturday, May 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The event is part of the township’s ongoing efforts to keep public spaces clean and inviting for residents and visitors. Organizers say the success of previous years demonstrates how collective action can make a visible difference in the community.

“We’re proud of the strong community spirit we saw last year, with about 150 volunteers stepping up to help keep Grand Blanc Township looking good,” said Grand Blanc Township Supervisor Scott Bennett. “Our goal this year is to build on that momentum and get even more people involved. When visitors come into our community, our major roadways and expressway exits are the first impression—they’re our front door. Keeping them free of trash and litter reflects the pride we have in our community and the standards we set for ourselves.”

Residents interested in volunteering can sign up individually or as groups at bit.ly/gbtcleanup. The township encourages participation from all ages, highlighting that broad involvement helps foster local pride.

In last year’s event, volunteers collected approximately 1.6 tons of trash from local roadways in one morning, illustrating what can be accomplished through shared effort. The township is working with sponsors including Genisys Credit Union, Mass Transportation Authority (MTA), The Junkluggers, and Faith Lutheran Church to provide transportation to cleanup sites as well as necessary equipment for participants.

After completing their work, volunteers will be invited to a complimentary lunch as thanks for their contributions.
