FOIA Request to Ionia County Regarding Vendor Payments in 2024 on September 26th.

In our continued commitment to providing comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at Great Lakes Wire have submitted a request for records under the Michigan Freedom of Information Act § 15.231 et seq. The request was sent to Ionia County on September 26, 2024.

We have specifically requested a list of all payments made to vendors from January 1, 2024, till September 26, 2024. The information sought includes the vendor name, transaction date, transaction description, and the amount of each payment.

As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to these public records is essential for us to fulfill our professional responsibilities. Given our role in disseminating information, we believe we are eligible for a fee waiver as media professionals.
