Congressman Tim Walberg met with small business owners this week to discuss key issues affecting their operations, including health care, data centers, and tax credits, according to a May 5 announcement.
The meeting gave local entrepreneurs an opportunity to share their experiences and concerns directly with a federal lawmaker. These discussions are part of ongoing efforts by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) to connect policymakers with the small business community.
“We’re thankful Congressman Walberg took the time to meet with small business owners directly and hear about the issues they’re currently dealing with,” said Amanda Fisher, NFIB Michigan State Director.
The National Federation of Independent Business advocates for small and independent businesses through education and legislative efforts. It delivers economic reports and policy updates to support members in Michigan. Founded in 1943, it functions as a member-driven nonprofit organization according to the official website.
NFIB maintains nonprofit and nonpartisan status while engaging with the Michigan legislature on behalf of its members. The group also provides legislative advocacy, economic insights, and works throughout Michigan’s communities according to the official website.
