City of Ishpeming consolidates election precincts after state law change

The City of Ishpeming announced on May 1 that it will consolidate its two election precincts into one, following recent changes to Michigan state law that increased the maximum number of registered voters per precinct from 2,999 to 4,999. The decision was made by the Ishpeming City Election Commission at a meeting held on December 10, 2025 and later approved by the City Council on December 17, 2025.

This change means all city residents will now vote at KD Hall, located at 326 Pine Street in Ishpeming. Voting will take place in the gymnasium with entrances available from both Pine Street and the parking lot off Main Street.
