Americo Teran, the manager of human resources at Forge Industrial Staffing, based in Grand Rapids, reflected on his career trajectory and credited the company for its commitment to customer service, employee support, and community engagement.

“Our goal is to nurture talented individuals and help them achieve their professional as well as personal goals,” said Teran, Manager of HR, according to Forge.

Teran hails from South Haven, Michigan. According to his employee profile, he discovered his passion for customer service early in life. In 2014, after relocating to Grand Rapids and completing college, Teran started working at Forge as a part-time service coordinator at the age of 20. “I became a sponge and quickly grasped many different aspects of HR,” he said.

In an interview, Teran stated that he transitioned into a full-time role swiftly. He revealed that Forge recognized his dedication and offered him the position of human resources generalist. Regarding this promotion, Teran said: “They created the position for me as a way of showing how much they cared about my growth while also acknowledging my skills and contribution that I could bring to Forge.” Since then, Teran has been promoted twice and currently holds the position of manager of human resources.

Forge Industrial Staffing was founded in 1995 with the aim of connecting businesses with temporary and contract workers. The company’s website states that it operates 11 offices across Michigan and Indiana. The founders envisioned building a company centered on “relationships and focused on the needs of the industrial client and employee.”

Discussing the human resources technology used by Forge, Teran emphasized its focus on fostering a balanced work environment. This includes offering compensation to employees who engage in community work on behalf of Forge. “Forge strongly believes in giving back to the communities that have given us a home and a place to grow our business and show the members of the community that together, we can all succeed,” he added.

According to information available on its website, through its initiative “Forge Cares”, the company identifies programs that contribute positively to families and individuals in the community. It allows all employees two days to engage in their own volunteer efforts.
